Over 70% of girls age 15 to 17 avoid normal daily activities, such as attending school, when they feel bad about their looks. (www.dosomething.org)
75% of girls with low self-esteem reported engaging in negative activities like cutting, bullying, smoking, drinking, or disordered eating. This compares to 25% of girls with high self-esteem. (www.dosomething.org)
Even in the face of many decades of advancements and progress toward equality for women, many girls and women feel inadequate, under valued, and insecure.
31.21 was birthed from the desire God placed on my heart to encourage women to see themselves as He sees them, not by what our culture tells them they should be.
Woman are constantly bombarded by negative messages trying to convince them they have to DO more, BE more, BUY more, SHOW more, and portray the perfect life on social media to be valued. But these are LIES!
The truth–You. Are. Enough.
The mission of 31.21 is to help girls and young women not only know their WORTH in Christ, but love themselves, embrace their differences, and fight to lift one another up (instead of tearing one another down).
Using the characteristics set forth in Proverbs 31:10-31 along with the examples of several virtuous women in the Bible, the heart of this ministry is to help women of all ages be who God is calling us to be–not images of perfection, but women who hunger and thirst for righteous. I want to help young women discover and redefine what it means to be Proverbs 31 women in the 21st Century.
